What is the sea like in front of the resort?
Since we are located in a bay off the Gulf of Thailand, the sea is very shallow so it's perfect for small children. You have to walk out a long way before the water gets deep. Water quality: very clean!
Are there really dolphins in the bay and when is the best time to see them? Can we swim with the dolphins?
The best months to see the dolphins are February to May. They tend to stay further out in the sea during the rainy season or when the sea is rough. The dolphins in our bay are completely wild, and are quite shy. Since they aren't domesticated, it's not possible to swim with them. They can sometimes be sighted from the beach and often follow the fishing boats. Many guests are lucky enough to sight them swimming along with their boat on a boat trip, but there are no guarantees!
When is the hot season in your area?
The hottest months of the year are March and April. The monsoon rains usually start towards the middle of May, cooling things down. Average temperatures: Low:25° , High: 35°, but it can go up as high as 38° - 40° some days!
When is it cooler?
Our “winter season” is typically in December, January, and February when we have strong winds, high waves, and cooler weather. Average temperatures: Low:22° , High: 31°
When is the monsoon rainy season?
The rainy season is typically from the end of May until November, weather patterns have shifted dramatically in recent years, as all over the world. Still this is the general period when the rainy season occurs. Our area receive a lot less rain than the rest of Thailand, especially further south on Koh Samui and Phuket. When it does rain, it usually doesn't last all day. It will usually rain heavily for an hour or two in the morning or in the afternoon, and after that the sun comes out and things cool off nicely, so it's not the type of rain you know from Europe or America, where it rains constantly for days.
Are there restaurants and shops near the resort?
We are located in a small fishing village. Besides our restaurant which has an extensive Thai and Western menu, there are a few local restaurants and other hotels which serve Thai and Western food.
