The Phraya Nakhon Cave got its name from an ancient ruler in the area who discovered the cave over 200 years ago after being forced ashare by a violent storm. The central focus of the cave is a four-gabled roofed pavilion bathed by natural sunlight and was built for the visit of King Rama V on 20 June 1890. The cave was also visited by King Rama VII in June 1926 and King Rama IX visited the cave twice during his reign. The pavilion is now the shrine to King Rama V and visitors can look for King Rama V and King Rama VII signatures on the cave wall.

The ideal time to leave from the Dolphin Bay beach around 9 am to reach the cave by 11am for the perfect illumination of the pavilion.

The boat ride takes around 30 minutes to Laem Sala beach in Sam Roi Yod National Park. Followed by a 30 to 45 min hike up a trail to the cave with a viewpoint overlooking the sea.

After visiting the cave, guests can enjoy the white sandy beach at Laem Sala Beach.
